This theory is based on two philosophical theses. One of them is that before the existence of the body, the soul exists in a world higher than matter. The other is that rational knowledge is nothing but knowledge of solid abstract realities in this upper world – the platonic term for these realities is „archetypes.“ Empiricists do not admit the necessary rational knowledge before experience.
