CHICAGO, January 20, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today that a Hyatt subsidiary has signed a franchise agreement with The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC for a Hyatt Place hotel in Waikiki, Hawaii. Under the agreement, the hotel, currently operating as Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki, will undergo extensive renovation and will be renamed Hyatt Place Waikiki in the fall of 2011, with 425 rooms. Over the next 18 months, the Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki will be completely renovated, including a complete redevelopment of the lobby, rooms and public spaces. During the renovation, the rooms of the hotel`s 14- and 19-storey towers will be redeveloped to Hyatt standards.
